Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar is renowned for its vibrant food scene, with an array of dining establishments along Tanjong Pagar Road and its surrounding streets. Many are housed within the district’s pre-war shophouses, reflecting the multicultural influences that have shaped Singapore over the years. Among these culinary gems, Chef’s Table by Chef Stephan located along Tras Street stands out, offering a changing Western omakase menu inspired by the chef-owner’s culinary experiences across Europe, the US, Canada, and Southeast Asia.
Chef Stephan Zoisl’s culinary journey began at a young age, growing up with a professional chef for a father. Having honed his skills at eight restaurants, including four Michelin Star establishments, he eventually found his culinary home in Singapore. In 2013, Zoisl set up a cooking studio in collaboration with Gaggenau and My Private Chef, crafting unforgettable dining experiences for brands, businesses and individuals. This fruitful alliance with Gaggenau has now spanned a decade with Zoisl eventually establishing his own restaurant in 2015.
At Chef’s Table by Chef Stephan, diners are treated to an enhanced dining experience through an open kitchen concept. It is equipped with cutting-edge Gaggenau appliances, bringing Zoisl’s imaginative culinary creations to life. Recently, the luxury kitchen appliance brand upgraded the restaurant’s induction cooktop to a brand new 80 cm flex induction Twist Pad model, enabling seamless manoeuvring of various cookware over two large flexible zones, perfectly catering to a chef’s need for rapid and precise heat control.
Gaggenau’s unwavering support for Zoisl extends beyond his restaurant’s walls. A mobile kitchen was designed exclusively for the Austrian chef, allowing him to cater to intimate private dinners at various locations in Singapore. Over the years, Gaggenau also brought Zoisl to Malaysia and the Philippines, offering trade partners and customers an exceptional opportunity to savour his specially curated menus that pay homage to Gaggenau’s rich heritage.
Gaggenau recognises Zoisl as one of its pioneer chef partners in Singapore and aptly heralds him as a ‘Culinary Spokesperson’. “His extraordinary personality and modern evolutionary cooking align seamlessly with Gaggenau’s commitment to precision craftsmanship and unwavering quality,” affirms a Gaggenau spokesperson on this profound synergy between them.
To commemorate their remarkable decade-long partnership, Gaggenau is set to host the Gaggenau Discovery Tour on 27 and 28 July 2023. Held at the Gaggenau Experience Centre, this complimentary event will offer aspiring users a first-hand experience of the professionally-inspired design and culinary performance that define this luxury brand. Guests will have the pleasure of indulging in unique culinary creations prepared ala minute using Gaggenau’s cutting-edge appliances. This immersive experience will offer a glimpse into the exceptional capabilities of Gaggenau appliances, guided by a consummate professional.
With 340 years of creating superior gastronomic experiences, Gaggenau remains committed to supporting artisans who strive for excellence in their field. Zoisl, a true visionary who shares Gaggenau’s dedication to perfection, stands as a testament to this enduring brand partnership. As the years unfold, it is evident that Gaggenau and Zoisl will continue their close collaboration, continuing to elevate Singapore’s culinary landscape.
