Founded in Manzano in Italy in 1919, Italian furniture brand Potocco has cultivated a strong artisanal expertise with wood that forms the brand’s identity today. Through its products, the brand aim to create a dialogue between past and present, and tradition and technology using wood and various other materials.
Designed by Mario Ferrarini, the Velis collection is a perfect embodiment of this continuous exploration of artisanal wood manufacturing. Debuted at Salone del Mobile in 2016, Velis is a family of seating that explores the relationship between solid wood structures and upholstered parts.
The collection features a curved upholstered backrest with cut-outs underneath the armrests, which add a degree of flexibility and airiness. Clever and pleasing to the eye, Velis’ upholstered parts beautifully merge with the solid wood structure, creating a polished look that would be at home both in residential and commercial settings.
The 2016 Velis collection comprises chairs, stool and benches. This year, building on Velis’ popularity, Potocco has expanded the collection with a lounge chair, a barstool and larger seating elements for two and more, including a sofa, benches in various sizes and a barstool for two.
With a seat height of 76.5 centimetres, seat depth of 51 centimetres and width of 112 centimetres, the Velis Double Barstool is a perfect perch for two. It features solid wood structure in ask or canaletto walnut, with metal footrest and upholstered seat and backrest in leather, eco-leather or fabric.
In Singapore, Potocco is carried by The Beuro.
