Designers are finding new ways of using leather to add depth and character within interior spaces. Take Verona for example – the popular pure-aniline leather from the Contemporary Leathers collection has displayed its versatility and natural beauty in recent well-known projects.
Aesop’s Collins St Melbourne store
In Aesop’s flagship Collins St Melbourne store, the Aesop creative team and Kerstin Thompson Architects incorporated a curtain made from Verona to evoke a refined old-world gentleman’s club.
At Canberra’s new Hotel Hotel, Don Cameron and a group of creatives have developed a design based on romance, textures and patinas, with the incorporation of Verona in the rooms and public spaces.
Then in the iconic Bourbon in Sydney (top image), Paul Kelly has taken the space to the next level with quality finishes and details, such as with Verona in elegant stitched panelling and interlacing strips of Phoenix, also from the Contemporary Leathers collection, with wood and brass.
