Venetian Terrazzo makes a comeback with creativity and elegance in the form of the new Marvel Gems collection by Atlas Concorde.
November 1st, 2016
Terrazzo tiles are made of composite materials – chips of marble, quartz, granite, or glass – and are recognised for their diverse design options and extreme durability. Popular back in the 1990s, the Terrazzo tile is seeing a revival thanks to new options brought about by technological advances and new forms of creative ingenuity. Case in point: Marvel Gems by Atlas Concorde is a collection of ceramic tiles that combines the look of Terrazzo with the superb quality of porcelain and white body wall tiles.
These beautiful, Italian-made large format homogenous tiles display a contemporary design language where shards and inserts emerge like marble jewels scattered across a continuous brilliant surface.
Inspired by Venetian-style floors in Terrazzo, Marvel Gems reflects the wide range of colours and sizes of the original crushed marble floors. The variations of colour within the Marvel project include various sub-base tonalities and marble-effect fragments that result in elegant and highly unique design combinations.
The Marvel Gems porcelain tiles feature highly polished, mirror-effect surfaces, with a full-surface honed finish, to give the glossy look of traditional Venetian Terrazzo floors.
The collection has a hard, compact and scratch-resistant surface that ensures it maintains its beauty over the years.
Atlas Concorde is carried in Singapore by RICE.
