Poggenpohl is the latest addition to the XTRA catalogue. The former’s +MODO series is a showstopping kitchen that impresses with its play on dimensions.
March 20th, 2023
The name Poggenpohl is synonymous with quality, luxury and precision engineering. The German brand has gone from a small carpentry business in 1892 to a pioneer of modern kitchen that continually innovate to stay ahead of times. Even after 130 years in operation, it’s astounding that the business still honours founder Friedemir Poggenpohl’s vision “to make kitchen better”.
This unwavering commitment to amelioration is best exemplified through Poggenpohl’s +MODO kitchen. The worktop and cabinetry offset against one another, creating an architectural design language that adds to the kitchen’s functionality. Visually, the worktop appears to be levitated, but it is in fact resting atop the cabinetry and further held together by thin metal filigree which belie the worktop’s sheer weight.
This staggered design gives way to open shelves beneath the worktop, which become a stage for food, utensils and personal accessories. Poggenpohl even thought to make them into pull-put shelving to improve their functionality. Integrated lighting further adds to the showstopping design and motion that work in absolutely synergy.
+MODO is indeed unlike any other kitchens on the market. The worktop surface, cabinetry colour and material, as well as kitchen accessories are customisable to suit individual tastes, needs and preferences.
It is easy to create flexible order and optimised storage within +MODO’s drawers and cabinets with Poggenpohl’s cleverly designed accessories. From dividers to inserts, and storage boxes to bread containers, there’s something for everyone. Impressive in any size, +MODO is a result of Poggenpohl’s ingenious creativity.
In Singapore, Poggenpohl will be available at XTRA from April 2023.
