Jakarta-based design studio AlvinT, helmed by designer Alvin Tjitrowirjo, has designed a new furniture collection for Vivere – the Indonesian home furnishing and lifestyle group. Tjitrowirjo has had ties the brand since his early years of practice, making handmade furniture. Last year, the brand commissioned him to design new pieces for its hiCraft Rattan collection.
Some 42 pieces are the result, including lounge chairs, a sun lounger, sofas, coffee tables and side tables. A handful of the pieces were displayed at IMM Cologne in January. The Sadha sofa and lounge chair and the Cita coffee table (both pictured) were among them.
AlvinT is well known for its work with rattan. For the hiCraft Rattan collection, Tjitrowirjo furthered his interest in a contemporary expression for the traditional material. Classic proportions are combined with slender silhouettes, the compositions brought to life with natural rattan poles, woven wicker, solid teak and metal frames, and marble.
Vivere was founded in 2003 by Dedy Rochimat and has ten stores across major cities in Indonesia.
