The brand expands its collection with novelties and exclusive collaborations with international designers such as India Mahdavi, Serena Confalonieri and GamFratesi.
Arcadia pouf
Through the centuries, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna (GTV) has made its name as a visionary of contemporary furniture. GTV’s eclectic personality transcends through different environments – its novelties embolden commercial spaces as much as the living space. Drawing between the lines of what is traditional and what is innovative, GTV launched five novelties at Salone del Mobile 2022 that embody the brand’s ethos and revolutionary wood bending technique.
GTV’s very first collaboration with India Mahdavi gave birth to Loop, a family of seats consisting of an armchair with armrests and a two-seater sofa. The playfulness of the armchair is characterised by the ‘sinuous curls’ of the curved beech wood armrests, upholstered roller backrest and striking colours. “Gebrüder Thonet Vienna is the only manufacturer in the world that allows you to translate a freehand design by giving it a wooden materiality of that quality,” says Mahdavi.
Similarly, the Arcadia pouf bears a curved beech wood structure that supports the large, circular padded seat, which refers to the company’s heritage. Designed by Serena Confalonieri, it is light and utopic in colour and charm.
Yet another whimsical collection is the Luftballons by Valter Cagna from the GTV design department. Inspired by the shapes of hot air balloons, the collection consists of a three-seater sofa, armchair and lounge chair calibrated in size and proportions. The solid frame is contrasted by wide, billowy cushions that provide ultimate comfort while adding personality to any space.
For Detour, it is a tale of diverging paths. This coffee table designed by GamFratesi presents as a play of lines. Brass feet and Vienna straw cabinets lend lightness to the curved beech frame (lacquered black or natural).
The design studio also expanded the Mos family of storage units with a cabinet that bears a similar design language to Detour. Elliptical in shape, the Mos cabinet’s wooden top is artfully concealed by a woven caned exterior that complements other GTV furnishing accessories.
These new collections and other equally stunning collections from GTV are available at Space Furniture.
