Flexform Unveils Its First Dedicated Outdoor Collection In Singapore

Flexform recently launched its 2019 indoor and outdoor collections at its Singapore showroom in Newton. In an intimate event themed ‘Green Is The Warmest Colour’, the new pieces from this year’s Salone del Mobile Milano were presented – including Flexform’s first-ever dedicated outdoor collection.

Flexform has had several forays into the outdoor realm, with projects for resorts and yachts, but the 2019 outdoor collection marks the first time that the brand has presented a cohesive range of seating systems, sofas, armchairs, tables, chairs and accessories for outdoor enjoyment.

Flexform traditionally pairs with very few select designers, including Antonio Citterio and Carlo Colombo, and this boutique approach to design collaborations has extended to the outdoor collection. Among the new pieces:

Vulcano sofa by Antonio Citterio

The woven pattern familiar to Flexform’s indoor pieces ventures outside as the key motif of the Vulcano sofa. The flexible and customisable design is produced with durable stainless steel, polypropylene fibre, polyurethane rubber and marine plywood. The padded cushions are lined with breathable yet water repellent fabric. The woven upholstery is available in colours such as earth tones and olive green.

Alison Outdoor armchair by Carlo Colombo

Originally presented for indoor use, Alison migrates outdoors with an extruded aluminium frame, a base of marine plywood and a polyurethane rubber backrest. The frame can be powdercoated in white, khaki green or wine red, or left unpainted in a burnished or satin-finish. The light weight of Alison Outdoor gives it the benefit of being easily moved around.

Zefiro Outdoor table by Antonio Citterio

The same colours and finishes are applied to the cast-aluminium legs of the Zefiro Outdoor dining table and side tables – another product that migrates from indoors to out. The tabletop is available in a variety of stones: Beola Argntata (a silvery green gneiss), Pietra del Cardoso (an ash-grey sandstone), lava stone and Porphyry.

Ortigia Outdoor by Design Centre

Traditional elements are reinterpreted with a more contemporary vibe in the Ortigia Outoor family, which includes armchairs with an without armrests, as well as a footstool and dining chair. The frame is made with solid iroko in a natural finish, lacquered white or stained grey. The handwoven upholstery is available in polypropylene cord or polyurethane rubber.

Phuket ottoman by Design Centre

A simple shape with a rich surface of woven polypropylene fibre in colours ranging from earthy tones to olive green.

Thomas Outdoor armchair by Antonio Citterio

Thomas is a bestseller in the indoor collection. The new outdoor version champions solid iroko, which is offered with a natural finish, stained grey or lacquered white. The timber is protected at the feet of the chair by die-cast metal alloy tips and nylon pads. The seat cushion is covered with breathable, waterproof laminated fabric.

Fly Outdoor table by Antonio Citterio

A slender stainless steel base supports round and rectangular tabletops in a variety of sizes, making Fly Outdoor a versatile family of tables and side tables. The frame is available with a burnished finish or powdercoating in white, khaki green or wine red. The tabletop is available in various stones: Beola Argntata (a silvery green gneiss), Pietra del Cardoso (an ash-grey sandstone), lava stone and Porphyry.
