Flexform’s new 2018 collection by design maestros Antonio Citterio and Carlo Colombo continue to interpret the brand’s DNA of understated opulence and effortless elegance with aplomb.

“What sets every Flexform product apart is the fact that it is easily recognisable, conceived for everyday use and always easy to use,” says legendary designer Antonio Citterio. Having collaborated with the brand for over 40 years, Citterio is an inseparable part of Flexform’s DNA of understated opulence and effortless elegance.
This DNA is flawlessly interpreted yet again in Flexform’s new 2018 collection launched in this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan, which takes the theme of ‘Good Design That Improves Everyday Living’. Here are five standouts in the new collection – four from Citterio and one from another legendary Italian designer, Carlo Colombo.
“Each and every sofa sets the scene for a medley of different uses,” Citterio famously said. And Campiello is his latest stage of everyday life for Flexform. The sofa bears the hallmark of a coveted Flexform sofa: a combination of clean lines and generous volumes that promises warmth and comfort, and deliver them with aplomb.
Campiello offers oversized goose down cushions (available with or without roll cushions for added back support) that sit elegantly on cast aluminium base available in grey or bronze with satin, chrome, black chrome, burnished or champagne finish.
This family of chairs demonstrates Flexform and Citterio’s skill in balancing artisanal craftsmanship and standardised production – a blend of tradition and modernity.
Leda features an elegant solid wood base that echoes Scandinavian design and an enveloping upholstered shell with a special polymer core that offers superior durability and softness for the utmost comfort. The Leda family includes armchairs with a high or a low seat back, a dining chair and a small armchair, all with removable upholstery.
Named after the Greek goddess hailed as the embodiment of a perfect family woman, Citterio’s Hera is a family of armchairs and chairs that can traverse the realm of residential and commercial projects with ease. The collection features polymer shell core for a seat profile that is both invitingly graceful and superbly comfortable.
The Hera family features removable upholstery and is available in two base options: cast aluminium legs (with satin, chrome, black chrome, burnished or champagne finish) or solid wood base in Canaletto walnut or ash in a choice of shades.
A neat companion to Flexform’s seating offering, Citterio’s Ascanio is a solid wood occasional table that lends an extra touch of luxe to any room. The table features a solid wood frame sculpted with handles for ease of movement. The frame and top are available in Canaletto walnut or ash in various shades. An array of glossy and matt marble options is also available for the top.
An armchair with a distinct personality by Carlo Colombo, Sveva features a shapely shell consisting of polyurethane structure and saddle hide upholstery. Goose down seat and back cushions round off the offering of comfort while a cast aluminium swivel base completes the stately design. The swivel base is available in versions with four or five spokes – the latter specifically designed for the contract market – and in five finishes (satin, chrome, black chrome, burnished or champagne finish).
With nine colour options for its leather upholstery and cushions that can be upholstered with Flexform’s vast collection of fabrics and leathers, Sveva offers virtually unlimited combinations to express one’s brand and personality. The Sveva range also includes ottoman and small occasional tables in various sizes and materials that include wood, lacquer and marble.
