Top: Empatia by Artemide

#1 Artemide’s Empatia by Carlotta de Bevilacqua

Empatia by Carlotta de Bevilacqua epitomises the marriage between glass-blowing tradition and LED technology that guides Italian manufacturer Artemide. In collaboration with master glass blowers, the flexible quality of Venetian glass is exploited, resulting in one-of-a-kind glass shades that reflect light without glare. At the heart of Empatia is a high-performance LED-based light tube that was crafted separately from the glass emission, maximising lighting efficiency.

Demetra

#2 Artemide’s Demetra by Naoto Fukasawa

Demetra is a family of table lamps designed by Naoto Fukasawa. Made of painted aluminium, the lamps are completely adjustable with tilting arms that cater to various activities. LED sources are incorporated into the lamp head. An enhanced version, the Demetra MD features a Motion Detector that senses moving objects and people, as it turns light on or off automatically. Demetra is available in reading, wall and spot versions, and can be configured with a table base, clamp or fixed support.

anglepoise
Giant 1227 by Anglepoise

#3 Anglepoise Giant 1227 by George Carwardine

Originally designed for the Roald Dahl Museum, Giant 1227 is a larger-than-life tribute to the author’s love for his writing desk lamp. The gargantuan piece has a 270cm base to shade height – almost threefold in terms of scale to the iconic Original 1227TM. It will serve as a statement piece in any space.

Spiro
Spiro by LZF

#4  LZF Spiro by Remedios Simón

Drawing inspiration from classic ornamental latticework, the Spiro pendant by Remedios Simón features an intricate three-dimensional handmade structure, created using a new Polywood moulding process. The internal veneer is available in 11 different finishes, while the outer screen is available in four finishes. Spiro comes in two sizes.

glo penta
Glo by Penta

#5 Penta Glo (Pendant) by Carlo Colombo

Glo is structured in chromed metal and borosilicate glass, which makes it highly resistant to thermal shock in comparison to standard glass. The outer shade is available in a few finishes – transparent or iridescent gold and silver with sandblasted internal diffuser. The three available sizes can be mixed and matched.

The brands Artemide, Anglepoise, LZF and Penta are available in Singapore at Million Lighting
