Italian brand Studioart offers a range of decorative leather products that are suitable for both private and public spaces. The company, founded by Nadia and Gianfranco Dalle Mese in 1967, crafts new textures and formats out of the coveted material, while preserving its natural characteristics.
The rigorous creative process of Studioart is informed by research, design, Italian craftsmanship, modern needs and technical expertise that come into play to enable the material to be used in alternative environments and purposes.
Here’s a look at three leather wall coverings from the brand’s extensive collection:
Mushroom
Mushroom
Although informed by basic shapes, Mushroom is the product of Studioart’s technological advances. Here, leather is cut into smaller shapes that are mixed and matched to create a three-dimensional effect to walls.
Opting for the padded version will further accentuate each leather tile, thus creating a more intense or dramatic backdrop. Each tessera can also be installed in opposing directions to create depth.
Mushroom is available in square, rectangle, triangle, trapezium, as well as in several other patterns.
City
The City collection is made of selected full grain leather that is smooth to the touch. The leather has also been expertly processed and treated to provide an extensive palette of 42 colours – available in an array of shapes and formats to enable infinite creativity in design. Four finishes are available: flat, padded, flat-stitched and padded-stitched.
Studioart’s level of quality and craftsmanship ensure that City is highly resistant to wear and lighting, rendering the material suitable for a multitude of applications. City can be used in residential or contract projects, such as apartments, hotels, restaurants and offices.
City is available in square, rectangle, triangle, trapezium, as well as in several other patterns.
Kaleido
As its name suggests, Kaleido enables the user to play with shapes, colours, and different leather types to personalise a new image. Basic square and triangle shapes combine to create geometry and visual movement that enhances various spaces.
Kaleido is available in square and triangle.
Studioart is now available exclusively at Tatum Company.
