The French partitions manufacturer takes the lead with its new, state-of-the-art multimedia solution for conferencing, presentations and much more.

Innovation and Connectedness: these two words are at the heart of Clestra Hauserman’s brand identity, and they define everything the leading system partitions solutions manufacturer creates. Indeed, they were front of mind for the company when it developed Mediawall, a groundbreaking multimedia solution for workspaces.

Not every 102-year-old company can respect its heritage while staying ahead of the curve, and yet Clestra is doing both – and with flying colours. “Nowadays, innovation is the key to sustaining every company,” explains Gilles Marino, currently Managing Director for Clestra in South Asia. From 1 January 2016, Marino will oversee Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau out of the brand’s Hong Kong office.
“We have 25 subsidiaries around the globe, so we’re really covering the whole world,” says Marino of the company, which is headquartered in Strasbourg, and which works with architects, designers and the construction industry to create offices tailored to the creative and productivity needs of companies and their staff.
Mediawall can connect with laptops, tablets and smartphones via Wi-Fi
In keeping with Clestra’s service approach, Mediawall was created with companies and their people in mind. This Plug & Play-ready device is a cable-free display solution that can connect with any device from any brand, from the smartphone to the tablet and laptop. It also has USB and video options, too.
Mediawall comes with an access point for USB keys
All this lets you display anything you want on Mediawall slick-looking surface, connecting up to 64 devices via Wi-Fi, an inbuilt mini-PC or the USB port – whether you’re talking through a Keynote presentation, showing a corporate video, making public announcements, doing sales pitches to clients or participating in a web conference via Skype or Cisco WebEx. “It’s a total solution for conferences,” says Marino.
Clestra’s in-house R&D department developed Mediawall and its impressive, new technology, incorporating various different options into the offering so that clients have plenty to choose from. There’s touchscreen functionality if you want it, “or we can install it without the touchscreen option,” says Marino. “With our technology, we can also transform our customer’s existing screen into a touchscreen,” he adds.

Clestra’s R&D department was also responsible for Mediawall’s sound system, which is built-in to the device – in fact, the speakers are part of the screen’s surface. It’s also simple to maintain: there’s an easy-to-access technical panel at the front of the device that’s also easy to operate.
It’s a completely new direction for Clestra, and, says Marino, it’s a step ahead of what’s happening elsewhere in the industry. “At this point, we are the only ones as far as I know that have gone this far.”
Mediawall is designed to help drive collaboration
What prompted this new direction was the realisation that “the horizontal had become the vertical,” says Marino. “Before, with old computers, you had big screens and your computer took up a lot of depth on your desk. Nowadays, verticality is the key. With the arrival of all those new technologies, it’s about how we blend everything to deliver the best partitioning solution for customers.” With MediaWall, says Marino, “we help customers connect with their clients, and their staff.”
Clestra’s Mediawall, including all features such as touchscreen technology and more, will be on display at Hong Kong Indesign on 19 and 20 November. Head to Clestra Limited for a hands-on experience of MediaWall. Clestra Limited, 11/F The Hennessy, 256 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai.
