The swagger of the 70s reared its head in each of the state capitals last month as furniture icon Stylecraft celebrated their Bowling for Cancer 70th birthday celebration.
Returning for the first time in a decade, Bowling for Cancer aims to raise money for cancer charities and provide a night out for the built environment community. In its first six years, Stylecraft raised over $200,000 for a number of cancer charities, with a $70,000 goal set for the 2023 rendition.
The $70,000 benchmark was smashed by the conclusion of proceedings, with more than $80,000 raised for The Kids’ Cancer Project and the Children’s Cancer Institute, as well as Singapore’s Children’s Cancer Foundation. At each of the events held across Australia and in Singapore, the 70’s theme was embraced with prizes awarded for the best dressed individual and team, and the highest scoring individual and team.

The Kids’ Cancer Project is an independent national charity supporting childhood cancer research, committing over $70 million dollars to scientific studies to help children with many types of cancer. The organisation’s vision is to see a one hundred per cent survival rate for children with cancer, while eradicating the harmful impacts treatment can bring.
The Children’s Cancer Institute was established in 1976 by a dedicated group of parents of children with cancer and their doctors. The organisation is the only independent medical research institute in Australia, wholly dedicated to curing childhood cancer and employs over 300 researchers, students and operational staff.
