At Singapore Indesign 2016, visitors can experience the vibrancy of Sunbrella’s fabrics by stepping into a creative installation made up of numerous cascading cubes.
October 3rd, 2016
When it comes to fabrics, be it for shade structures, marine applications or upholstery, Sunbrella is favoured by many architects, designers, decorators and stylists for its look, quality and performance. For instance, its upholstery range is comfortable, refined and multifunctional, ideal for indoor and outdoor usage.
Established in 1961, the fabric company has long changed the way fabrics are being considered and applied in design projects. Long-lasting, fade-resistant and easy to maintain, Sunbrella fabrics open up doors for new ideas to take shape.
This will be particularly evident at Singapore Indesign 2016 when Sunbrella unveils an intricate, three-dimensional installation titled Spectrum to showcase the unique features of its fabrics.
Conceived by Melbourne-based design practice Lucas, visitors are invited to step into the installation and gaze up at a cascade of strategically-suspended cubes. Upholstered in Sunbrella fabrics, the cubes express fresh and timeless colour trends such as Canvas Sunflower, Spotlight Flame, Loft Indigo and Escapade Twilight – and serve to highlight Sunbrella’s unique colour universe.
Spectrum will be housed within a pop-up café at Singapore Indesign’s Curated Space at 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road, and will create opportunities for engaging discussions on colour.
