Premium hospitality-led coworking space, The Great Room, is set to launch its first Australian location in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
June 16th, 2023
Following the recent launch of its sixth location in Singapore and announcement of its second location in Bangkok, The Great Room expands into Australia with its first location in Sydney. Set to open its doors in Q3 of 2023, The Great Room Sydney will be situated at Level 29, 85 Castlereagh Street. This marks the coworking space provider’s first foray into the country in partnership with Australia and New Zealand-based asset manager, 151 Property.
Covering an expansive 1,200 square meters with 35 dedicated offices and enterprise customised spaces, the new space is designed by Hassell, the same award-winning firm behind multiple successful projects with The Great Room in Singapore and Hong Kong. The interiors will blend a unique hospitality-focused approach with authentic local Sydney references, creating a vibrant and inspiring workspace.
The Great Room Sydney will offer a range of flexible membership plans, including dedicated offices for three to 30 persons, hot desk options, day passes, virtual office services, and enterprise suites tailored to unique specifications. Members will enjoy amenities such as enterprise-grade technology, 24/7 office access, shower facilities, exclusive events, meeting and event spaces, and networking opportunities.
Overlooking the iconic Hyde Park, the Sydney location guarantees a high standard of comfort, aesthetics, and performance that is synonymous with The Great Room brand. Since its inception in Singapore in 2016, The Great Room has grown rapidly, establishing 10 prime locations across Asia, including Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
The expansion into Australia comes after US-based flexible workspace provider, Industrious, acquired The Great Room in 2022. With a 40 per cent stake in Industrious, global real estate consultancy CBRE enables The Great Room to tap into its extensive Fortune 500 network. Industrious currently operates more than 160 locations in 65 cities worldwide.
“We are thrilled to enter the Australian market through a strong partnership with a landlord,” says Jamie Hodari, Co-Founder and CEO of Industrious. “This new location in Sydney adds to our growing portfolio and demonstrates our confidence in the potential and growth of this market.”
Jaelle Ang, Co-Founder and CEO of The Great Room, emphasised the importance of Sydney in their Asia Pacific expansion. “Sydney’s dynamic and sophisticated professional community makes it a vital part of our growth. We are excited to provide a space that meets their evolving needs and enables them to thrive.”
As the pandemic accelerates the evolution of the flexible office industry, businesses of all sizes in Australia are seeking flexible contracts, adaptable spaces, and experiential benefits. This expansion into the country further solidifies The Great Room’s global presence and commitment to providing exceptional coworking experiences in key cities worldwide.
