TAK Products & Services has ventured out of Sungei Kadut and into the city with Lamitak Studio at CT Hub 2 in Lavender.
5 August, 2017
Targeting designers as well as homeowners, Lamitak Studio is a 1,620-square-foot space that was created to communicate what Tony Tan (TAK’s Senior Manager of Brand and Corporate Communications) calls “the Lamitak experience.”
Three themes guided Lamitak and collaborating designers Farm, who assisted with conceptualising the space: ‘Explore, Create and Craft’. Various aspects of Lamitak Studio draw out these themes, with the underlying message being the exploration of various locations around the world as a means of developing the brand’s laminate designs.
A Materials Library holds 79 two-sided panels, each 3 x 8 feet in size. The panels are mounted on a special tracking system that allows them to be swung 360 degrees when pulled out of their coves. This gives the opportunity for the colours and textures to be viewed under different lighting angles.
Opposite is a display of over 450 square tiles – one for every Lamitak laminate design. A lightbox allows for scrutiny of the tiles under warm or white lighting.
For homeowners, moodboards, a ‘home staging area’ and a photo-opportunity corner assist with visualising one’s selections.
Designers and the Lamitak team can make use of a 485-square-foot mezzanine, where discussions, meetings and presentations can be held with a sense of privacy.
