We proudly present Saturday Indesign’s first silent auction event, courtesy of Journey East, creative studio Feral and seven local artists. Proceeds will be donated to Children’s Cancer Foundation.
October 9th, 2019
One of our Saturday Indesign exhibitors Journey East is known for a curated offering that ranges from eco-friendly furnishing, original 1950s vintage finds, industrial-styled pieces, as well as Scandinavian decor accents.
For Saturday Indesign, in addition to hosting one of our Design Conversation series, Journey East will also present several installations spread throughout the showroom by some of Singapore’s best emerging young practices: Wynk Collaborative, Feral and UPSTAIRS_.
Inspired by the playful shape of the Qeeboo Rabbit chair, Feral creates a safe space for the seven local creatives to reimagine the chair.
Where is the safe space? Under a giant carrot-shaped disco ball! Hence the installation’s title: Fast Slow Disco.
Qeeboo Rabbit Chair’s playful form allows the rabbit’s ears to become the backrest of the chair, and both adults and children can sit leaning against the ears of the rabbit or on the opposite side, riding it and resting the forearms on his ears.
The Seven Qeeboo Rabbit chairs that will be showcased at Fast Slow Disco are one of a kind creations by stylist Aaron Han, drag queen Becca D’Bus, calligraphy atelier Craft Varies, illustrator Kristal Melson, artist MessyMsxi, branding studio Restless, and jewellery label State Property.
And these chairs will be auctioned off online! All nett proceeds from the auction will be donated to Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF). CCF is a social service agency that provides children with cancer and their families the much-needed support in their battle against the life-threatening illness.
Over the years, CCF has helped more than 3,000 children and their families at different stages of illness and recovery.
