Flokk has 40 years’ history of a structured focus on the environment, enabling the brand to be a leader in the development of sustainable furniture. The company believes in a holistic approach that goes way beyond the materials used for its products.
“Sustainable design is very much part of Flokk’s DNA. This DNA is unchangeable, it’s a key element with which we start when thinking about a new concept. It runs through everything we do no matter what product or brand the focus may be on,” says Christian Eide Lodgaard, Senior Vice President of Products and Brands at Flokk.

Flokk Asia is one of Saturday Indesign Singapore‘s exceptional exhibitors at the Curated Space. Come 12 October 2019, visitors of Saturday Indesign will get an insightful glimpse into the world of sustainable design and see firsthand the brand new design update on one of Flokk’s bestselling chairs.
The design of Flokk Asia’s Saturday Indesign stand draws inspiration from Flokk’s presentation at Stockholm Furniture Fair (SFF).
At SFF 2019, Flokk introduced the concept DNA: A Journey Through Sustainable Design in collaboration with designer Amy Hunting and Oscar Narud from Hunting & Narud Design Studio.
Using raw materials and story-boards, Flokk painted a comprehensive picture of thoughts and challenges faced by designers when it comes to executing sustainable furniture design. Visitors to Flokk’s stand at SFF 2019 got to experience the extensive journey the products go through, from conception to delivery.
The concept was a great success, drawing interest not only from the design fair attendees but also the organisers of the event. Flokk was one of the four presentations nominated for the Editors Choice Stand of the Show Award. View the highlights of the presentation below:
DNA is a concept developed in collaboration with design studio Hunting & Narud, and provides a unique insight into how sustainability is at the core of all Flokk designs.
At Saturday Indesign Singapore on 12 October, Flokk Asia will draw from Hunting & Narud’s original SFF DNA concept and presented it in its own way. In addition to new products, visitors can expect to experience unique design stories and an illustration of the origin of Flokk’s DNA.
