Looking to showcase your innovative designs? Singapore Good Design returns this year and submissions are open until 28 February 2022.
February 8th, 2022
Good design has become a source of growth and productivity in the economy as organisations recognise the value of investing in excellent design principles, processes and offerings. Fortunately, there is no lack of talent in Singapore and the wider Asian region.
To further educate consumers and end-users of the value of good design and encourage a higher standard of quality in production, Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) was launched by Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) in 2013, in partnership with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) that founded the prestigious Good Design Award (G Mark).
Currently in its 10th edition, the Singapore Good Design 2022 is open for submissions until 28 February 2022. Submissions can be made to its eight entry categories: Product, Architecture, Interior Design, Experience Design, Digital Solutions, Branding, Sustainable Design and this year’s Special Category: Virtually Unlimited.
Created in partnership with PIXEL IMDA, the Virtually Unlimited category celebrates designs that push aesthetic, conceptual and technological boundaries to produce high-quality design thought and execution that create impactful outcomes. This concept can be applied across all design disciplines.
Submissions will be judged by an esteemed panel of jury. Notable figures include Mark Wee, Executive Director of DesignSingapore Council; Jarrod Lim, Founder of Jarrod Lim Design; Peter Tay, Founder & Director of Peter Tay Studio; and Keat Ong, President of Society of Interior Design Singapore (SIDS).
This year’s winners will be revealed at an award ceremony in July 2022. Notable past winners include Siu Hei Court Play Space, a run-down rooftop of a housing estate in Hong Kong that was transformed into a multi-level intergenerational play space by One Bite Design Studio, and Kohler Struktura Hygiene Urinal with a dedicated spout designed to cater to Muslim men’s ablution process.
