Wilkhahn Singapore always throws a great industry party. The brand’s 111th anniversary and new APAC relationship with COR were the perfect reasons to continue the tradition!
Wilkhahn has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1907, when Friedrich Hahne and Christian Wilkening founded a chair-making factory in Eimbeckhausen near Hanover. It was in the 1950s that Wilkhahn became known as a pioneer of German industrial design, experimenting with new materials and evolving its own distinct design language. And in the 1970s, the 232 office chair range by Wilhelm Ritz became the basis of Wilkhahn’s success in the office chair segment. Further development of dynamic ergonomic swivel chairs positioned the company for its ongoing success in the office furniture sector.
On 10 May, Wilkhahn’s Singapore team celebrated the company’s milestone 111th anniversary with a characteristically top-notch party for the A&D community in its Martin Road showroom. The team revealed the inspiration behind two of Wilkhahn’s latest products – the stackable chair Aula and the folding table mAx.
Also showcased was Wilkhahn’s new partnership for Asia-Pacific with COR, a German brand known for a rich heritage in residential furniture. The latter, of course, is increasingly finding its way into the office environment – particularly in collaborative areas.
Wilkhahn is a valued partner for Indesign Media’s INDE.Awards, The Luminary award category. People’s Choice voting for the Luminary of the Year has now closed. The winner will be announced at the INDE.Awards Gala on June 22!
