Gaggenau presents the first full surface induction cooktop for unlimited convenience and ease of cooking.
October 28th, 2011
Induction cooking is now literally borderless with Gaggenau’s latest invention – the full surface induction cooktop CX 480.
The CX 480 allows cookware of any size and shape to be placed anywhere on its surface. Up to 4 pots and pans can be used simultaneously.
The cooktop recognises the presence of a pot or pan automatically and heat is only generated where the cookware is detected. Move them and the cooktop easily registers their new position and carries on heating at the same temperature.
“Under the glass ceramic surface of the new full surface induction cooktop CX 480 there is a closely-spaced, staggered configuration of 48 micro-inductors. Unlike conventional large induction coils, this structure transforms the entire cooktop into one large cooking area”, explains Stefan Köhl, Director of Product Management at Gaggenau.
The CX 480 is operated by an intuitive extra-large TFT touch display that indicates the shape, size and position of the cookware. Cooking zones and heat settings are selected at the touch of a fingertip and an information key provides the user with additional operating instructions.
Gaggenau designer Sören Strayle has won the 2011 iF product design award (gold) for his innovation while the TFT colour touch display has bagged the iF communication design award.
In Singapore, the CX 480 is available exclusively from the Gaggenau Experience Center and its authorised dealers.
