Moooi’s original designs and playful style ups the ante at Space’s new Asia Hub in Singapore.
November 24th, 2011
Chairs that resemble medieval thrones and lamps as impalpable as a tree in blossom are just some of the lovely Moooi sightings that promise to dazzle visitors to the new Space Asia Hub in Singapore.
Extension Chair
The new multiplex features the many daring and playful designs that the Dutch brand – formed in 2001 by designer Marcel Wanders and marketer Casper Vissers – is known for.
Intriguing, the unique way in which the Moooi products combine the character of antiques and the freshness of modern times resonates well in the new complex, itself a combination of 2 heritage buildings and a contemporary glass block.

The unusual and innovative new products presented at Space Asia Hub include the Extension Chair with a choice of 3 extensions; the Gothic Chair, a robust ode to the medieval era; the ethereal Heracleum Lamp; and last but certainly not least, the Mistral Suspension Light, an ultimate fusion of a lamp and a ventilator.

Moooi’s philosophy is to produce items that will ’defeat the course of time’ and be forever cherished. In addition to Marcel’s own designs, the company works with other international designers such as Jurgen Bey, Bertjan Pot, Ross Lovegrove, Neri & Hu and Nika Zupanc.
