Highlights from the new Minotti collection, coordinated by Rodolfo Dordoni.
4 July, 2011
The Minotti ’design identity’ is beautifully emphasised in this year’s collection: the preference for understatement, the focus on functionality and flexibility, the softness in the lines and proportions, and the weaving together of history, innovation and technology.
Here are just a few of the highlights.
Donovan
The austere grouping of the Donovan sofa elements first calls to mind the essential nature of cubism, but once seated, the sensations change. Swathed in goose down, arms and backrest included, Donovan is surprising soft. The seat padding also features high-resiliency polyurethane foam in different densities for differentiated and long-lasting comfort.
The innovative one-piece seat creates a uniform seating surface without the usual ’cracks’ between one seat and another, making it also possible to group elements, even sections with different dimensions, to create original and asymmetrical compositions.
Given its highly modular nature, Donovan lends itself perfectly to contract spaces.
Perry Coffee Table and Davis Stool
The Perry coffee table features pewter-coloured die-cast aluminium legs, paired with a solid wood top or glossy lacquer option. Highly versatile, Perry mixes perfectly with products from the entire Minotti collection. The positioning of the legs also allows for a unique integration with the compact Davis pouf. Davis is padded with goose down, with the lower portion upholstered in leather and fitted with a zipper.
Jensen
The rigid external structure lends stability to the shape, while the goose down cushioning gives the chair its softness. Jensen also features a visible zipper, and a highly original base made of moulded die-cast aluminium, exclusively designed by Minotti Studio.
