Returning for its 7th edition, this year’s Singapore Night Festival invites the public to rediscover spaces, immerse themselves in ethereal performance-installations and soak in grand spectacles. Here are some of the highlights.

Divine Trees by Clement Briend Visitors shouldn’t be alarmed if they chance upon a large visage of a divine figure when approaching the main grounds at the National Museum. Blurring the divide between reality and imagination, these ghostly light projections are a study of the divine and spiritual world, made visible by their projection onto objects of nature. Spirits Of Nature by WeComeInPeace
The Singapore Art Museum has been turned into a vast canvas to highlight the beauty of Nature. In this immersive multimedia showcase, winds rumble and blow, fires are sparked and nature bloom. Dresses Of Memory by Taegom Kim
Located at the Armenian Church, Taegom Kim’s ethereal dresses are woven from 40 kilometres of fibre optic cables. As they ‘float’ in the dark, each dress tells its own story of romance and love as they slowly change colour through the night. Alsos by Scenoscosme
Festival-goers, equipped with flashlights, are invited into a mystical forest of light and sound. Point your flashlight at the fluorescent flowers on the tree branches and a melody rings out, with each bloom playing a different tune. Not just that, the music also evolves according to
the intensity of the light cast on them. The Singapore Night Festival 2014 is held on Fri 22 & Sat 23 August, and Fri 29 & Sat 30 August 2014, from 7pm – 2am at the Bras Basah/Bugis Precinct. Admission is free.
