Every year, the Red Dot Design Museum consolidates the best design projects and innovations from around the world, offering a current viewpoint into the state of contemporary design. Besides fueling good design, the Red Dot’s purpose has always been to ensure that quality design experiences remain accessible to the public.
For instance, the Red Dot Design Museum Essen in Germany – located within the former boiler house of the Zollverein coal mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a place to experience the best of design. This year, alongside in-house exhibits, the 4,000-square-metre and five-storey venue will also host three temporary exhibitions, namely Design on Stage – Winners Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016; Creative Video Revolution by Blackmagic Design; and Formosa Forms – Contemporary Tradition in Taiwanese Design.
