For one Friday night every month, beginning on 12 August, the red dot design museum in Singapore will come alive with design, art, live music, performances, food and a makeshift bar!

MAAD “Market of Artists & Designers”, which started back in 2006, has now been turned into a night-themed art and design focused ’pyjamas party’ filled with solo art exhibitions, thematic displays and creative workshops put together by the local artistic community.

The new MAAD will also be launching “made-in-sg”, a series of installations that invites participation from Singapore’s creative community. The very first thematic showcase will feature “Outstanding Namecards Only”, a display of think-out-of-the-box business cards.

There will also be a freestyle “OIC Portrait After Dark” from 7.30pm to 10.30pm where visitors can get their portrait drawn by local artists and illustrators.

MAAD aims to encourage a free flow of exchange that will hopefully lead to new innovation, novel ideas, newfound friendships and partnerships, as well as expanded networks.

The event on 12 August will feature the works of more than 70 designers and targets to draw a crowd of some 4,000 visitors.
