The CX 2-1 in Singapore recently received the Best Futura Projects (Gold) at the MIPIM Asia Awards 2011.

Designed by Andrew Bromberg, Executive Director at Aedas, CX 2-1 is a boundary-pushing piece of sustainable architecture that will house the regional headquarters of entertainment company LucasFilm when completed in late 2012.

The innovative tapering horseshoe structure exudes a visionary appeal with its sleek appearance and is raised above ground for privacy of the workspaces above. There are planting and green terraces on the exposed wing faces, and the open space is landscaped in a natural and overgrown manner.

In addition to the win for CX 2-1, Aedas also swept up the Best Chinese Futura Projects (Bronze) for its Olympia 66 project, a 221,900sqm retail development in Dalian, China inspired by the auspicious Tai Chi twin carps.
