Clerkenwell Design Week hits London for the third year running, bringing a dynamic and inspiring programme of exhibitions and events to the city from 22-24 May.
March 13th, 2012
If you’re lucky enough to be in London at the end of May, head down to the creative hub of Clerkenwell for Clerkenwell Design Week (CDW), a 3 day celebration of design, creativity and its power for change.
London’s EC1 postcode, already packed full of artisan workshops, design studios and fashion brands, will be buzzing with a dynamic line-up of things to see and do.

There’s Made In Britain, a showcase for local design talent, with young designer-makers from around the country descending upon Clerkenwell to exhibit their work. Eastern Promise will see CDW embrace the work of their Eastern European design counterparts.
Three historic venues rarely open to the public will open their doors for CDW including, for the first time at Clerkenwell, the Order of St John’s Priory and its amazing 12th century crypt and garden, lending a dramatic backdrop to proceedings.
St John’s Square will light up with Solar Tree, an arboreal cluster of LEDs designed by Ross Lovegrove and manufactured by Artemide – just one of the many installations at the festival celebrating lighting and its renaissance.

The Gen Lane pop-up gin bar will be serving up tipples for the crowds and there’ll be plenty of shopping to be had with retail spaces including the Dezeen Watch Store and a special exhibition by online marketplace Etsy.
Product launches, parties, auctions, debate, pop-ups, exhibitions, installations, open studios and workshops – it’s all happening at Clerkenwell Design Week from 22-24 May.
