Nominations for Singapore’s most prestigious award is now open.

Singapore’s annual President’s Design Award is now open for nominations. The cut off date is Friday, 20 April 2012, 6pm (Singapore time).
The President’s Design Award or PDA is given out designers and design projects to recognise their design excellence and covers all design disciplines, including advertising design, visual communications, architecture, urban design, fashion design, furniture design, interior design, landscape design, product and industrial design. Into its 7th year, the PDA has so far honoured a total of 20 designers and 47 designs.

Last year’s ‘Designer of the Year’ went to 2 architects, Chan Sau Yan Sonny and Tang Guan Bee, and the 10 ‘Designs of the Year’ were diverse, from WOHA’s School of the Arts to the Dyson Digital Motor and Hjgher’s Underscore Magazine. Members of the public are now invited to nominate the designers and design projects that they think have made significant accomplishments or pushed new frontiers in Singapore’s design landscape. The award will be given out in 2 categories – ‘Designer of the Year’ and ‘Design of the Year’.
