July 1st, 2011
The Minnie Pwerle Collection from Woven Image continues the company’s tradition of collaboration with Australian artists.
Working with the Dacou Aboriginal Gallery, Woven Image have created a new collection based on the work of the late Minnie Pwerle.
Widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading contemporary women artists, Minnie’s style was free and spontaneous, characterised by a strong use of colour and reflecting her deep connection with the land.
The Minnie Pwerle Collection from Woven Image is a bold, vibrant range of upholsteries, panels and wallcoverings that represent 2 of Minnie’s paintings and design themes – free-flowing and parallel lines.
The motifs found in Minnie’s art have been given a contemporary spin. Sunburnt yellows, ochres and clay tones are offset by black and white for striking effect.
The Minnie Pwerle Collection is a celebration of the work of a significant Australian artist. Woven Image invites you to join them at the Living Edge Showrooms at SiD 2011 for a preview of this exciting new addition to their stable of products.
