Reaching 314 metres, MahaNakhon by German architect Ole Scheeren will be the tallest development in Bangkok when completed in 2015.
November 25th, 2013
From a pair of skewed towers articulated in glass and steel (China’s CCTV headquarters) to skyscrapers with concave walls (Singapore’s Duo Residences), Ole Scheeren’s buildings are helping to define the built landscape of major cities around the world.
The recently unveiled MahaNakhon mixed-use development in Bangkok, Thailand is no exception. When the project is completed in two years, a distinctive three-dimensional ribbon of architectural ‘pixels’ will encircle the tower’s full height to create a stunning profile, while projecting glass skyboxes will offer sweeping views of Bangkok city and feature generous indoor/outdoor spaces with oversized terraces.
Aside from being an architectural landmark, MahaNakhon will, at a height of 314 metres, take on the title as the tallest and largest development in Bangkok’s history.
MahaNakhon tower will also accommodate The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Bangkok, which comprises 200 luxury residences. The residences will begin from the 23rd floor to the penthouse Sky Residences on the 73rd floor.
MahaNakhon is by developer PACE Development.
