Fisher & Paykel presents a new wave of refrigerators designed to flush-fit and slide into existing kitchen cabinetry or spaces seamlessly.

Just after two months in the New Zealand market, the new ActiveSmart™ Slide-in Fridge by Fisher & Paykel has been awarded its first accolade – a Gold Pin in the Product category of the Best Design Awards 2015.
The company is ahead of the curve for recognising that the modern kitchen – now commonly perceived as a living or social space – seeks design integration and few refrigeration platforms comply with that desire. Although many feature high technology, most refrigerators in the market still require breathing gaps at the sides, which often results in the fridge existing as an independent element.
Fisher & Paykel’s new ActiveSmart™ Slide-in Fridge can be integrated into kitchen cabinetry, while maintaining a family-friendly size. Besides projecting an overall clean look, this saves up space in the floor plan. Excellent food care is also maintained with the ActiveSmart™ technology.
Designed to fit within classic 900 x 1800mm cabinetry with a minimal 4mm gap, the freestanding fridge, unlike conventional units, does not require spatial gaps for door opening clearances or ventilation. It can also be installed on a plinth to conceal the grill.
Easy installation, common sizing, clear installation guidelines and universal panel systems are considered in the design process. Be it to update an existing kitchen or to craft from scratch, these new Slide-In fridges enable multiple angles of adjustments for door panels or skins to cater to uneven floors or to fine-tune gaps.
The model is made of high quality stainless steel with a classic black finish and chrome detailing on the slim water dispenser, in tandem with the style of Fisher & Paykel’s other kitchen appliances. Besides that, panels can also be customised to fit existing cabinets.
