The Bohemian collection designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso gives the traditional technique of button tufting a new spin.
November 28th, 2016
It has been almost a decade since Patricia Urquiola’s Bohemian collection for Moroso was introduced to the market, yet pieces from the collection remain highly relevant and modern. Comprising armchairs, chaise lounges and sofas, every piece is soft and inviting, appearing almost ‘liquid’ in form – as if the seating fabric or leather has melted all over the structural frames.
In a way, the Bohemian collection is revolutionary. The iconic design takes on the traditional technique of button tufting and gives it a contemporary spin. Fabric or leather is fixed to the seating shell using press studs. Overlapping cushions, layering materials, and lively colours come together to offer a fresh aesthetic and enhance one’s seating comfort.
The Bohemian collection is made of a resin frame and upholstered with flame-retardant injected foam, which is concealed by removable covers. The base of the armchairs feature varnished steel.
Made of luxurious materials, the seating patchwork will age with grace, imparting spaces with a ‘nomadic’ spirit.
