The Spanish lighting brand is now carried in Singapore at Foundry and offers a broad range of innovative products for both commercial and residential spaces.
March 4th, 2014
Marset started out as a family-run foundry business 50 years ago in Spain, before making the leap into the lighting business some 15 years ago. Despite being a relatively young entrant to the lighting industry, Marset’s products can today be found in many well-known hotels, restaurants and cafes as well as domestic projects around the world.
As a lighting company with an expertise in metal casting, Marset is focused on pursuing quality and innovation, and often chooses to collaborate with young, up-and-coming designers in its quest to push the envelope of what light can do.
The Spanish brand carries a wide range of decorative and outdoor lamps as well as architectural lighting, which are now available in Singapore through Foundry.
Some products of note:
Scotch Club
Designed by Xavier Mañosa, Scotch Club is a ceramic lamp inspired by a revolving disco ball – 72 facets reflect light in different directions, whilst from a distance, the lamp shows off a unique, sculptural shape. The interiors come in white or gold enamel.
Pleat Box
Also by Xavier Mañosa, Pleat Box is a ceramic lamp that appears charmingly like a creased cloth. The interiors come in white or gold enamel.
Tam Tam
Tam Tam by Fabien Dumas is made of a cluster of lamps. Each can be independently directed in a different direction.
Discocó
Designed by Christophe Mathieu, Discocó is one of Marset’s iconic lamps. It consists of a series of white lacquered discs that float around a chromed semi-sphere. These discs act as layers that shield the light source, at the same time redirecting and reflecting the light onto the underlying discs.
Nenúfar
Nenúfar by Joan Gasper takes its name and its delicate shape from the water lily. The cluster of pendants utilises LED technology.
Ledtube
A collaboration between Marset and Daniel L Carrillo, Ledtube is an orientable wall lamp that incorporates 3W 2700ºK LED technology and a 24º lens to direct a sharp beam of light. Due to its architectural and functional design, Ledtube can be installed vertically or horizontally and it is suitable as a built-in bedside lamp or as a surface wall lamp.
