Composed of geometrical shapes that offer compositional flexibility for lounging indoors and outdoors, BRIXX marks DEDON’s first fully upholstered collection.

While DEDON is known for producing artisanal outdoor furniture that are hand-woven with its signature weather-proof fibre, the German company has also been actively working on new materials.
Part of its 2017 collection, BRIXX marks the German company’s first fully upholstered collection, made of a unique fabric spun with 50 per cent recycled, post-industrial fibres. The seating system – applicable indoors and outdoors – consists of geometrical modules that remain functional and accessible from all angles, no matter the configuration.
For the collection, DEDON worked with Italian designer Lorenza Bozzoli, who was an accomplished fashion designer before applying her design sensitivities to furniture. Bozzoli studied the craft of top Italian upholsterers before conceiving BRIXX. It therefore comes as no surprise that BRIXX is informed by immaculate tailoring details.
Each seating module is formed by two pieces of fabric that are sewn together to a third underlying fabric. This unique construction reveals a subtle diagonal groove that cuts across each module, creating a graphical statement. It also breaks the rectilinear design with triangular shapes.
By combining various seating modules and complementary elements such as triangular and cylindrical backrests, as well as circular, square and spherical cushions, users can create their own geometrical landscapes.
BRIXX is offered in earthy, muted colours – red-tinged shore, bluish cove or a combination of both colours. A side table is also included in the playful collection.
