Since its inception in 1968, Porada has remained firmly rooted in its belief in wood craft and Italian-made furniture.

For The Love Of Wood Craft

An Italian manufacturer of wood-based chairs since 1948, Porada was established as a furniture company in 1968 by Luigi Allievi with the ambition to expand into a broader portfolio of products. Decades later, Porada offers a wide range of designs but remains firmly rooted in its love for solid wood and its longstanding collaboration with Italian craftsmen.

The 2015 collection, titled Fifteen, drew inspiration from the ’50s – a period synonymous with the peak of wood craft advancement. During this time, wood was often combined with lush materials such as marble and fine leathers to elevate its appeal.

Solid wood, specifically Cabaletta walnut wood in a ‘Moka-stained’ treatment, is the primary material that threads through the collection, which consists of 20 pieces, including chairs, desks, benches, bookcases and mirrors. Each furniture is complemented by accents of lush materials such as matte glass, ceramics, velvet and leathers. Here are two pieces from the collection.

The Atlante cabinet is a suitable host for exquisite homewares with internal shelving and two optional front glass doors. The top of the cabinet can be detailed in wood or marble. It is also available as a TV console.

The wall-mounted Bohème bedhead continues the collection’s language with a Canaletta walnut wooden frame covered in leather or fabric upholstery. Completing the backdrop are two wooden side panels.

Fifteen is the result of a closely-knitted collaboration between Porada’s longstanding designers Tarcisio Colzani and Marconato & Zappa, alongside next generation designers, Dolcini, Ballabio and Gallina.
