Two new patterns, Arboretum and Tableau, round off the Urban Nature Collection from Tandus Flooring.

The collection interprets the emotions and cultural nuances of Japan’s rural countryside – from cherry blossoms to bamboo forests, lily ponds, teahouses and terraced rice fields, and from art to architecture.

Utilising Tandus Flooring’s unique Sero design technology and exclusive Powerbond medium, the patterns are created to flow uninterrupted and unrepeated across the sheet, recalling the beauty and sophistication of made-to-order hand-tufted broadloom and woven axminster carpets.

In addition to this breakthrough concept in patterning, the application of colour layering adds visual depth and helps to soften the amorphous impact of the motifs. An ombré effect is incorporated through yarn thread-up. The fluid, lyrical quality of the ombré is then juxtaposed with irregular vertical lines. This play of gentle random forms with geometric bands and lines of colour is what gives the Urban Nature patterns that distinctive sense of dimension.
