A major drawcard at Saturday in Design, The Project provides a unique and highly creative experience.
June 20th, 2012
First introduced in 2008, The Project has brought new life to Saturday in Design (SID), heightening creative interactivity, showcasing product in new and conceptual ways, and giving SID visitors an eye-popping, in-showroom experience.
As a program, each edition of The Project demonstrates new ways in which products can be viewed and used with conceptual applications of space and environment continuing to pushing the creative boundaries.
This year’s theme for The Project at Saturday in Design is ’Activate environments, create the fourth dimension. Bring forms and spaces to life. Take action. Revive, invigorate, awaken’.
Conceived by architectural and design firm, Woodhead, this year’s Project brief was popularly selected from a shortlist of briefs, pitched by top design firms.
Here, design teams were asked to reflect on topics and issues effecting the design industry, and provide real world briefs which would bring more parameters and depth to The Project. All briefs were posted to Indesignlive, where architecture and design audiences voted for their favourite brief.
Exhibitors and designers are now in the process of partnering up and joining creative forces to produce concepts and installations that respond to this year’s multi-dimensional brief.
The results of these collaborations will be exhibited in showrooms in every precinct at Saturday in Design. They promise to be exciting, interactive, experiential, and transformative.
As the event comes closer we’ll have more information and exciting sneak peaks of these amazing collaborations for you. Tune in to our Facebook, Twitter and newsletter feeds for all the latest information.
