Inspired by the forms of industry and infrastructure, the long-span Marketplace worktable supports today’s collaborative working environments.
December 6th, 2012
Teknion reinvents the worktable with industrial designer Carl Gustav Magnusson’s Marketplace. Able to achieve an uninterrupted span of over 6 metres, Marketplace minimises barriers to the moment-by-moment interactions of today’s team-based office.
Says Magnusson, “I was stuck in traffic and noticed this span – a truss over six lanes. I was in admiration of this ubiquitous product and began wondering how I could use it in the office furniture industry.”
Marketplace can accommodate eight 60-inch work desks in one uninterrupted span. It also offers generous wiring capacity, well-designed privacy options, and a concise set of components that allow for quick and easy installation.
A minimal structure unites with maximum functionality, allowing higher workstation density, providing accessibility to team members, and serving a range of planning scenarios.
Marketplace is designed for application throughout the workplace, including permanent addresses that require a clear definition of space and a higher degree of privacy. Optional canopies can enhance a sense of place.
The iconic design of Marketplace, says Teknion, echoes the rigorous functional elegance of modern office architecture.
Marketplace is available in Singapore at Vanguard Interiors.
