Designed for the luxury contract market, the 100 per cent wool carpet tiles take their inspiration from the encounters at a spice market, from the sight of towering cones of spices, to the heady scents and the incessant buzz of activity.

“The Spice Market collection is really about texture,” said Ginger Gilbert, Global Design Manager for the Contract Division. “The designs are subtle, yet rich and sophisticated.”

Masala, tamarind

Spice Market comprises 3 distinct patterns.

Baharat is inspired by the carvings and mosaics that grace the walls of many storied spice markets and has key recurring motifs, but the overall pattern never fully repeats.

Masala is reminiscent of the magnificent tile work that still adorns many market walls, much of it eroding gently with time.

Za’atar, tamarind

Za’atar evokes the soft texture of a much-used textile, and was inspired by the simple burlap bags. Used by spice merchants to transport their goods, these structured pieces when used and used again transforms into a much gentler texture, creating a lovely muted effect.

The collection comes in an earthy palette of 12 hues, ranging from golden browns to dusty blues.
