Herman Miller will be welcoming POSH into its family in a strategic step towards greater regional and global expansion.
March 24th, 2011
POSH Office Systems from Hong Kong and US based Herman Miller have formally entered into an agreement that will, upon its expected completion later this summer, bring POSH into the Herman Miller corporate family.
The announcement was made at the official opening of POSH’s new flagship showroom at Warwick House in TaiKoo Place; at 22,000 square feet, it is the largest furniture retail space in Hong Kong.
The two leading companies in work and office furniture systems first began a marketing and distribution alliance in September 2008.
“In these past few years working together we have confirmed our like-minded passion for innovative, high quality interior solutions,” says POSH President and CEO Eric Yim.
“Equally important we found that our company cultures were well matched, with both organisations committed to good corporate citizenship through design, environmental stewardship, and high standards in the quality and care for our employees and the communities in which we operate,” he adds.
Herman Miller sees the alliance as a means to enhance its comprehensive, high value product portfolio and service capabilities in the region, and an opportunity to tap new markets, starting with China.
“China is an enormous growth opportunity and through POSH we gain immediate access to the Chinese market… With an expanded product offer through POSH we can also look beyond China, to other markets and customers we’re not presently serving,” says Brian Walker, Herman Miller’s President and CEO.
