US-based designer Jonah Takagi re-imagines the pendant lamp.
February 9th, 2012
The Bluff City lights designed by Jonah Takagi for New York-based contemporary lights manufacturer Roll & Hill gives off a vaguely postmodern feel, echoing the Memphis movement; it also takes its name from the city, known as ‘Bluff City’.
Takagi has merged a traditional pendant shade and a wire cage, turning it into an industrial-inspired but refined pendant.
Contrasting touches, such as an enameled steel cage, a copper socket and an enameled aluminum diffuser, come together to create a simple yet rich pendant fixture.
